On Saturday, November 1st, the inaugural “Golden Autumn Wine Festival” took place at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. Twenty top wineries from the northern half of the Sierra Foothills AVA–including Nevada, Butte, Placer and Yuba Counties were on hand to present their wines.
This was an opportunity for wine lovers throughout the North State to interact directly with the vintners themselves while sampling a wide range of varietals and wine-making styles from the foothill territory of Northern California.
The event took place in the beautiful hand-hewn, timber-framed barn at Bishop's Pumkin Farm and included tasty hors d’oeuvres and a live band. Over 200 people were in attendance.
Proceeds from the event benefited Yuba-Sutter United Way and helped provide funding for the 2015 Community Impact Grants for non-profit organizations providing services for “Healthier Children.”
