This award is given annually in memory of long-time Executive Director Nancy Ferreira to an individual, business or organization most significantly contributing to the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way and most similarly paralleling her leadership, dedication and actions. The Nancy Ferreira Leadership Award will be announced and presented at the Yuba-Sutter -Colusa United Way Celebration of Service and Awards Breakfast on August 20, 2026.
2026 Pedro Award - CLICK TO DOWNLOAD NOMINATION APPLICATION
Forty-eight years ago, the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way began to receive a modest monthly contribution, paid in cash, with a note stating “TO HELP OTHERS” signed “PEDRO.” A year later it was decided to borrow the “Pedro” name for a very special Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way award. The Pedro Award is the only award of its kind, recognizing an individual’s lifetime of caring for his/her fellowman without thought of personal gain. The recipient of this award will be announced and presented at the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way “Celebration of Service and Awards Breakfast” on August 7, 2025.
